DAY 1 - TUESDAY
Depart the UK on your regional service with Air Malta. On arrival in Malta, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Sliema for a two night stay.

DAY 2 - WEDNESDAY (B)
A leisurely start, as we head for the island’s capital, Valletta. The scene of many battles and sieges, the Knights of St. John developed the town into a fortified bastion. On our walking tour we will wander along Republic Street, past the Auberge de Castille and the Co-Cathedral of St. John. Continue to the Upper Barraka Gardens to enjoy the stunning views over Grand Harbour. Once the tour has concluded, you can either return to your hotel, visit the Malta Experience, which offers a great presentation on the history of the islands, or, head for the shops.
DAY 3 - THURSDAY (B)
An early start as we head northwards. At Cirkewwa, we board the ferry for a 20-minute sail to Gozo. At Mgarr we are transferred to our hotel. The first stop is the Azure Window, an impressive rock formation in the Mediterranean. We then continue to the inland sea where it is possible to take a short boat trip through an archway to the open sea. Other sites visited include Ta’ Pinu, where many attest to miraculous cures, picturesque Xlendi Bay and Calypso’s cave, where the nymph is rumoured to have enthralled Ulysses for 7 years.

DAY 4 - FRIDAY (B)
In the capital Victoria take a walk through the citadel with its steep ascending streets. After a trip to the colourful market, we take the short ferry crossing back to the mainland. Transfer to Sliema for the final four nights.

DAY 5 - SATURDAY (B)
This morning we explore the ancient former capital, Mdina. Afterwards you will have the chance to shop for traditional Maltese souvenirs at Ta’Qali handicrafts village.
DAY 6 - SUNDAY (B,L,D)
A day of sightseeing in southern Malta starts with the enchanting fishing village of Marsaxlokk, we continue to Ghar Dalam, where intricate caves contain the remains of pygmy breeds such as elephants that have shrunk to the size of a large dog! At the Blue Grotto
cave, you can embark on an optional boat trip (charge). Our final destination is Hagar Qim, an
ancient temple which is believed to have been a fertility shrine, and is well known for the ‘Venus of Malta’ statue. Afterwards relax before we meet again, for a sumptuous evening meal at a Maltese restaurant.
DAY 7 - MONDAY (B)
Formerly the residence of the Knights of St. John, the Three Cities of Vittoriosa, Senglea and Cospicua has enjoyed an eventful past. Yours to discover is a wealth of medieval sights, museums (charge) and superb views of the Grand Harbour. An absorbing morning, the
afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure.
DAY 8 - TUESDAY (B)
Transfer to Malta Airport for your, return flight to the UK, or extend your stay. |
