New for this summer, Our Go as you please programme, gives you the opportunity to explore this fabulous island at your own pace. We have chosen three locations that offer a varied range of things to see and do and they are designed so that they can be added to your existing holiday arrangements. You can choose either to visit just one place or if you wish a combination of all three. Alternatively if you want to use the opportunity to spend a few nights away as a short break.

All of the hotels below include return flights from Gatwick to Catania with Air Malta, 3 nights stay in the named accommodation on bed and breakfast basis and 4 days car hire in an air conditioned car (category B) Should you wish to upgrade your car, then please contact our reservations department for more details . The extra night price is also detailed should you wish to stay longer. Representatives are not at hand in these locations, but can easily be contacted via telephone, should you need assistance.

Brief Guide To:

Palermo
The capital city of Sicily, known for its connections with the Mafia. Put this aside and you will discover a rich architectural treasure trove of Byzantine Cathedrals, Medieval districts and Norman Palazzos and everything else in between. Built on a natural harbour, the city is best explored on foot, and many choose to enjoy a coffee, pizza or ice cream, which Sicilians claim to be the best in Italy.

Agrigento
Famed for the Valley of Temples with its numerous temples dedicated to Hercules, Juno and Zeus and other Greek deities. Close by there is also an archaeological museum with rare artefacts from the ancient Greek world. The City, has been in existence for over 3,000 years. Take the opportunity to shop in its fashionable boutiques, see the town hall, which is a Dominican monastery dating back to the 17th century and visit is gothic and Doric churches.

Syracuse
The city has survived civil wars, earthquakes and foreign invasion, leaving an intriguing mix of architecture that can be seen today. The main pedestrianised area of Ortigia (Quail Island) is littered with sites such as the Temple to Apollo. the Piazza Archimeda. The Duomo and the Palazzo Bellomo with its paintings by Caravaggio. In the main town, visit the catacombs or travel to Parco Archeologico to see Greek Theatres and Roman Amphitheatres.
