IMPORTANT NOTICE
Your Travel Insurers wish to bring to your attention the following important features of our policy:-
Policy Document: You should read the document carefully. It gives full details of what is and what is not covered and the conditions of cover.
Conditions, Exclusions and Warranties:
Conditions and exclusions will apply to individual sections of your policy whilst the general exclusions, conditions and warranties will apply to the whole policy.
Health: Your policy contains conditions about the health of the people travelling and of the other people upon whose health the trip may depend.
Hazardous Holiday Activities: If you are going to take part in hazardous holiday activities, check that your policy covers you.
Property Claims: These claims are paid on the value of the goods at the time you lose them and not on a “new for old” or replacement cost basis, unless otherwise stated in your policy.
Policy Limits: Most sections of your policy have limits on the amount the insurer will pay under that section. Some sections also include specific limits, for example – for any one item or for valuables in total.
Policy Excesses: Under most sections of the policy, claims will be subject to an excess. This means that you will be responsible for paying the first part of the claim. The amount you have to pay is the excess.
Reasonable Care: You need to take all reasonable care to protect yourself and your property – as you would if you were not insured.
Complaints: Your insurance policy has a complaints procedure which tells you what to do if you have a complaint.
Cooling-Off Period: Your policy contains a “cooling-off” period during which you can cancel the policy and get a refund, provided you have not travelled or made a claim. Your policy is governed by English law unless you and your insurers have agreed otherwise.
Health Warranty: This insurance carries Health Restrictions so you should inform Towergate Chase Parkinson of any medical conditions or material facts that may affect the underwriter’s acceptance of your cover. Please therefore telephone them on 0870 906 3144 to inform them if anyone to be covered by this policy or any person upon whose health the trip depends:
(a) has a pre-existing or ongoing medical condition
(b) is taking any prescribed medication
(c) has any condition still requiring periodic review
(d) is awaiting any tests, treatment, investigation, referral or results of any of the foregoing. Failure to notify them may cause your circumstances to fall within policy exclusion.
